Summary

A hypertrophic scar is a thick raised scar that’s an abnormal response to wound healing. They more commonly occur in taut skin areas following skin trauma, burns or surgical incisions.

Our patient had intralesional corticosteroid injections and 6 rounds of Pulsed Dye Laser, which led to a fantastic improvement in the scars appearance. We could perform Fraxel Lasering to further blend the remaining scar tissue.
