What Are Dark Circles?
Dark under eye circles are an easily recognisable condition. Dark circles appear under the eyes more often on older individuals as the skin around the eyes loses elasticity. Because the skin around the eyes is subjected to more stress than most other areas of the skin, this is one of the earliest problem areas for many patients. There are a variety of treatments available that can remedy the condition, and most are relatively non-invasive.
What Causes Them?
Dark circles under the eyes can result from many different causes. They can be an inherited trait related to bone structure and skin pigment. Facial bone structure that produces the appearance of deep-set eyes also contributes to the appearance of shadowed under eye circles. A range of medical conditions can also contribute to the appearance of dark under eye circles from allergies to circulatory problems. And lastly environmental factors can exacerbrate the appearance of dark circles these include stress and fatigue.
What Can I Do?
There are a variety of treatments available for dark under eye circles including laser resurfacing, dermal fillers and chemical peels.

What To Expect
Before your treatment you’ll have a consultation with one of our trained medical team, where we determine the right treatment plan for you. This gives you the opportunity to find out more about the procedure, ask questions about fillers and allows you to make an informed decision about the treatment.
On your treatment day dermal fillers are injected directly into the under-eye area. Often only a very small amount of dermal filler is required to achieve the desired result. Some patients may undergo a second treatment after 6 to 9 months.
Your treatment will take place in Brisbane Skin’s modern medical dermatology rooms. Dermal fillers are only administered by our highly trained nurse Krys Luszczek who has been performing these treatments for over 20 years. We firmly believe you should only trust your face to expert injectors.
The procedure usually takes less than an hour and no downtime is needed following an eye bag treatment.
The Results
You will see a difference immediately – more volume and plumpness under your eyes will reduce the appearance of bags. Typically results last between 18 and 24 months. Although this differs from individual to individual.

What Is RF Needling?
Intensif is a RadioFrequency skin needling treatment that is exceptionally effective for skin remodelling, deep within the skin. How Does Skin Needling Work?
