What is Rejuran?

Rejuran is a skin treatment derived from highly purified polynucleotides which are long-chain molecules composed of nucleotide sequences, the same fundamental building blocks that make up DNA.

When introduced into the skin, Rejuran works by supporting the skin’s own cellular repair and renewal processes from within, encouraging the skin to improve its own biological function over time.

Because the response is driven by the skin’s own biology, changes develop gradually over a series of treatments and the timeline varies between individuals.

How Rejuran Works

Polynucleotides and the Skin

Polynucleotides are naturally compatible with human tissue. When injected into the skin, they are recognised and utilised by skin cells, particularly fibroblasts,  the cells responsible for producing collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid. Polynucleotides support fibroblast activity, encouraging these cells to increase their production of the skin’s structural proteins. This helps to gradually improve skin thickness, firmness, elasticity, and surface quality over the course of treatment.

Cellular Repair and Renewal

One of the key mechanisms of Rejuran is its ability to support cellular repair processes. Skin cells accumulate damage over time from UV exposure, environmental stressors, and the natural ageing process. This cumulative damage reduces the efficiency with which cells carry out their normal functions, including the production of collagen and the coordination of the skin’s repair responses. Polynucleotides support the skin’s own repair mechanisms at a cellular level, helping to improve the environment in which skin cells function.

Rejuran also has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that contribute to the overall health of the skin environment. What Rejuran Does Not Do

It is important to understand that Rejuran is not designed to add volume, change facial shape, or produce immediate visible changes. Its mechanism is one of gradual biological improvement rather than structural modification.

What a Rejuran Treatment Involves

A course of treatments is typically recommended rather than a single session, as the response builds progressively over time. The specific treatment protocol, including the number of sessions, the interval between them, and the areas treated  is determined individually during a consultation based on your skin concerns and your practitioner’s clinical assessment.
